Privacy Policy

We collect information in the following categories:

Account Information: When you register, we collect your email address, display name, password (stored as a one-way hash — never in plain text), and your selected role (viewer or streamer).

Profile Information: Viewers may provide content interests and a bio. Streamers provide a stream URL, platform, content tags, and bio.

Tax Information (Viewers Only): Before processing a payout, we collect your legal name, mailing address, and Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN/SSN/ITIN/EIN) as required by U.S. tax law. Your TIN is encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption and is never stored in plain text.

Earnings & Session Data: We record viewing sessions, duration, and earnings calculated per session. This data is used to calculate and process payouts.

Payment Information: Streamers subscribe via Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status but never store full payment card numbers. Viewer payouts are sent via PayPal to the email address you provide.

Usage Data: We collect logs of platform activity (sessions started, payouts requested, etc.) for fraud prevention and platform operations.

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate and provide the Whillo platform • Calculate and process viewer earnings and payouts • Process streamer subscription payments via Stripe • File required IRS tax forms (1099-NEC) at year-end for viewers who receive $600 or more in payouts (2025) or $2,000 or more (2026 and beyond) • Prevent fraud and enforce our Terms of Service • Communicate with you about your account, payouts, and platform updates • Comply with applicable laws and regulations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for advertising purposes.

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

Service Providers: We work with Stripe (payment processing), PayPal (viewer payouts), and our hosting provider (DigitalOcean) to operate the platform. These providers process your data only as needed to deliver their services.

Tax Reporting: As required by U.S. law, we provide your name, address, and TIN to our tax filing service (Tax1099.com or equivalent) solely for the purpose of filing Form 1099-NEC with the IRS and delivering your copy.

Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Whillo, our users, or the public.

We do not share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for commercial purposes.

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. All data is transmitted over encrypted connections. Sensitive information such as passwords and tax identifiers is stored securely and never in plain text. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure — if you have concerns about your account, contact us at [email protected].

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Tax information and earnings records are retained as required by applicable law. You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us — we will honor requests except where retention is required by law.

Whillo is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or via an in-app notice. Continued use of Whillo after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
